Nora Harris Bigelow
Nora teaches intermediate & advanced level riders. She comes to her lessons with an open, approachable energy, an incredible intuitive eye for detail, and an uplifting style of coaching, backed by her extensive education & decades of experience in the horse world. Nora has a gift for rehabbing horses with complex issues, both mental & physical.
Nora has most recently focused on competing in regional Grand Prixes with her string of show jumpers. She has trained with international caliber instructors, like Boyd Martin, Ernest Dillon, Leslie Burr Howard, Daniel Stewart, and Michael Paige. Nora is the former head coach of the Roger Williams Equestrian Team and has successfully coached riders to the National level in both IHSA & IEA. Nora holds two degrees, a Bachelor's Degree in Equine Studies from Virginia Intermont College and a Master's Degree in Equine Science from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
Nora lives in Webster, MA with her husband, 2 young sons and a small menagerie of animals including birds, ferrets, and a tortoise. -
Rachel Harris Pelisson
Rachel instructs beginner through advanced riders & manages the IEA team. She is a patient and compassionate instructor focused on creating a harmonious experience for horse & rider.
Rachel has been training riders since 2016 and riding her whole life. She was the assistant coach for the Roger Williams Intercollegiate Equestrian Team alongside Nora Harris Bigelow. She has been training with Nora for the last 12 years, most recently competed in the jumper ring and previously the equitation riding before riding as a professional. Rachel has also trained with Michael Paige, Boyd Martin & Ernest Dillon. Rachel has a strong background in eventing & dressage which brings a unique teaching style to her jumping instruction. She is also trained in Pilates which helps her provide detailed cuing to help riders utilize their aids more effectively.
Rachel holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Science from New York University in Nutrition. She lives in Exeter Rhode Island with her family. Rachel's other passions include plant based nutrition, herbalism, organic farming, and energy healing.
